Job Title: Full-Time Housekeeper
Reports To: Estate Manager and Homeowners



About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and highly skilled Housekeeper to join our household team. The position involves maintaining a multilevel, 5-story, 7,000-square-foot residence, with each floor encompassing approximately 1,300 square feet. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming home environment while working independently to manage day-to-day household tasks. This position requires a proactive professional who anticipates the needs of the household and demonstrates exceptional standards of cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

Daily Housekeeping

  • Clean and sanitize all areas of the home, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping surfaces.
  • Maintain organization in high-traffic areas and ensure the kitchen is clean and orderly.
  • Change bed linens and towels on a weekly basis.
  • Keep bathrooms clean and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins regularly.
  • Unpack and organize deliveries, ensuring household items are stored appropriately.
  • Track inventory and backstock of household supplies, following and improving existing organizational systems.
  • Manage a weekly laundry schedule for linens and personal clothing, including handwashing, mending, and arranging dry cleaning as needed.
  • Care for fine fabrics and luxury materials, ensuring proper cleaning methods are used.
Deep Cleaning
  • Execute periodic deep cleaning tasks, including:
    • Cleaning furniture, appliances (inside and out), and fixtures.
    • Organizing closets, drawers, and storage spaces.
    • Rotating mattresses and airing bedding.
    • Detailed organization of wardrobes, including seasonal rotation, repairs, and maintenance of delicate fabrics.
    • Maintain shoes and accessories, ensuring all items are cleaned and stored properly.
  • Polish and maintain hardwood floors, stairs, banisters, and other specialty surfaces, strictly using only organic, non-toxic products.
Household Management
  • Handle grocery shopping and ensure the pantry and refrigerator are stocked.
  • Assist with seasonal transitions, such as changing clothing and household items for different seasons.
  • Prepare and pack for vacations or trips.
  • Manage household inventory, ensuring supplies are replenished promptly.
Special Projects
  • Support event preparation, including setup and cleanup.
  • Assist with holiday decorations and other one-time projects.
Property Care
  • Maintain high-end and historical finishes, including marble, antiques, hardwood floors, and wool rugs.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues to the homeowners or Estate Manager.
Communication
  • Maintain open, clear, and professional communication with the homeowners and Estate Manager.
  • Proactively inform the household of any issues or concerns that require attention.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Housekeeper in a high-end residential setting.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience using only all-natural, organic cleaning products and methods is a requirement.
  • Ability to implement natural cleaning solutions in place of store-bought products when appropriate.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying moderate weights.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience caring for historical or high-end properties.
  • Experience with silver and fine china care.
  • Basic home maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
