Private Chef – NYC based with travel


Start date: 2nd June 2025
Location: Prefer candidates based in NYC. Extensive travel
Schedule: Full time, 5 days per week. Weekends mandatory, with 2 consecutive days off mid-week.
Meals: Lunch and dinner daily, family style. Breakfast is set up buffet style the night before.

Bi-Coastal family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) are looking for a fantastic, experienced private chef to join them. Their current Chef is only moving on due to having a young family of his own, but would stay forever if he could.

The family eats a healthy, vegetarian family style diet. There are no allergies, and further preferences/ aversions can be discussed during interview (e.g. bell pepper, eggplant, no mashed potatoes, etc).
The children are pre-school and elementary aged, so basic children’s meals are cooked separately for them.
The family may entertain very rarely, maybe a guest or two occasionally and always family style.

The right fit for this role is a calm, health-oriented chef who specializes in creating delicious, simple, and elegant vegetarian meals. You would have a strong focus on using organic, seasonal produce sourced from local farmers markets wherever possible.

Chef will set table and serve family style. The family usually clears themselves.

The role will include travel to their other residence in Los Angeles, as well as travel to Europe.
A sample schedule for the year might be:
June – July in Europe, July – August in CA, September in NY, October through March in CA, March – June in NY. This is of course flexible and fluid.
Accommodation will be provided when traveling.

Compensation: BOE – please submit salary requirements.
Benefits include health insurance, 3 weeks PTO, bonus eligibility.
Accommodation and use of vehicle are provided when traveling/ as needed.
