Housekeeper – Private Family Residence

Location: Coral Gables, FL
Compensation: $35-$45/hour (based on experience) +

Position Overview

A warm, busy family of five in Coral Gables is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their fully staffed home, which includes a chef, property manager, and nannies. The residence is 15,000 sq. ft. and maintained to the highest standards. The housekeeper will be responsible for daily upkeep, laundry, organization, and assisting with occasional events, while collaborating smoothly with the rest of the household team.

The ideal candidate is proactive, discreet, and highly detail-oriented, with a positive, team-focused attitude.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Flexibility required for occasional evenings or weekends to assist with dinner parties and family events.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Cleaning & Upkeep
- Clean, tidy, and maintain all high-traffic and common areas (entry foyer, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms).
- Follow a self-set schedule to ensure all additional rooms in the home are cleaned regularly.
Laundry & Garment Care
- Washing of family clothing, bed linens, and towels.
- Regular pressing (steaming and ironing) and proper closet organization.
Household Management
- Daily trash removal and breaking down of boxes.
- Maintain an inventory of toiletries, cleaning products, and other household supplies.
- Accept packages and deliveries as needed.
- Water plants
Meal & Event Support
- Provide very light breakfast prep for the principals (oatmeal, smoothies).
- Assist the family’s chef with setup and service for dinner parties and events.
Travel & Organization
- Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
- Oversee deep cleaning and long-term projects during extended family travel during the summer (e.g., organizing storage, cleaning outdoor furniture, shoe care, cabinet deep cleans).

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a private residence or luxury hospitality environment.
Positive, team-oriented attitude; able to work seamlessly with other household staff.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate household needs.
Strong self-direction and organizational skills.
Knowledgeable in natural and non-toxic cleaning products.
Child-safety minded, ensuring all cleaning products and tools are securely stored.
Ability to communicate in English, although entire staff also speaks Spanish
Must be fully COVID-vaccinated.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $35–$45 (commensurate with skills and experience)
