About the Family:
A warm, professional family based in the West Village, NYC is seeking a full-time, long-term nanny to join their household. They have two children: a bright, active 4-year-old and a newborn. A full-time baby nurse is currently in place for the infant and will remain with the family for at least the next year. The nanny’s primary focus will be the 4-year-old, with the expectation of transitioning into care for both children over time.
Both parents work full-time, so the ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, and capable of managing the afternoon and evening routines independently. The family spends weekends and summers in East Hampton, where a private guest house will be provided. This role is live-out while in NYC and live-in during East Hampton stays.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide warm, engaging, and age-appropriate care for the 4-year-old
Plan and lead creative, educational, and fun activities
Maintain structure and consistent routines
Take the child to and from school and extracurricular activities (playdates, classes, lessons, etc.)
Confidently navigate NYC via public transportation, walking, or car service
Maintain and organize all aspects of the child’s environment — including their bedroom, play areas, clothing, supplies, and closet
Support the transition to caring for both children as the baby nurse steps back
Assist with occasional travel and weekend support, especially during the summer
Light child-related household tasks (e.g., prepping snacks, restocking essentials, toy rotation)
Ideal Candidate:
Energetic, playful, creative, and nurturing
Firm with boundaries and able to maintain a structured environment
Experienced with preschool-aged children and infant transitions
Comfortable working in a household with two working parents
Has a keen understanding of navigating NYC and its child-friendly activities
Detail-oriented and proactive in keeping the child’s spaces and belongings organized and well-maintained
Flexible, responsible, and able to adapt to changing schedules and travel
Holds a valid driver’s license (preferred, not required)
Seeking a long-term role with a commitment to becoming part of the family
Requirements:
5+ years of professional nanny experience
Strong, verifiable references from previous families
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Fully vaccinated (if required by the family)
