A private family in Stuart, FL is seeking a dedicated and highly experienced Private Teacher to provide individualized education for their boy/girl twins, who will be entering 5th grade in 2026. The children—turning 10 in March—have distinct learning styles; the son is analytical and quick to absorb information, while the daughter is creative and thrives with visual, hands-on methods. The educator must skillfully adapt instruction for each child, maintain an advanced academic pace, and incorporate both structured learning and experiential enrichment. The family values structure, organization, Christian faith, long-term commitment, and an active, device-free lifestyle, and they hope to find an educator who can grow with them over time. Additionally, a portion of the instructional day will be taught in Spanish to help immerse the children in the language and support fluency development.

The teacher must also follow all Florida homeschooling requirements, ensuring that the children’s educational records, portfolio, and mandatory evaluations are maintained in compliance with state regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of teaching experience, ideally in primary grades

  • Experience working in a private home is highly desired

  • Bachelor’s in Education required; Master’s preferred

  • Spanish-speaking required (fluency preferred); trilingual candidates are a strong plus

  • Must be of Christian faith

  • Strong ability to adapt curriculum to different learning styles

  • Ability to design the full curriculum, present it to the parents for approval, and adjust it based on their expectations

  • Experience providing accredited lesson plans, assessments, and progress tracking

  • Ability to maintain the homeschooling portfolio and required records for submission to the school district if requested

  • Excellent communication with parents, including weekly reports and structured lesson calendars

  • Energetic, active teaching style aligned with a device-free environment

  • Strong but warm personality—able to maintain structure and consistency

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily 1:1 instruction for approximately 3–4 hours across all core subjects

  • Teach portions of the curriculum in Spanish to support immersion-based language learning

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet both children’s distinct learning styles

  • Create, implement, and maintain accredited, personalized lesson plans aligned with grade standards

  • Design the full curriculum and review it regularly with the parents to ensure it aligns with their academic expectations

  • Ensure full compliance with Florida homeschooling requirements, including maintaining required portfolios and supporting annual evaluations

  • Incorporate social, emotional, and physical development into daily learning

  • Plan and lead enrichment activities, hands-on experiences, and educational field trips

  • Track academic performance, adjust instruction as needed, and maintain detailed progress notes

  • Provide consistent communication to parents, including weekly updates and structured learning plans
