Executive Housekeeper / House Manager

Location: Midtown Manhattan
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $60–$70 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary

A private family based in Midtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper / House Manager to oversee the daily cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency of a 6,000-square-foot townhouse. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can maintain high housekeeping standards while assisting with household management, vendor coordination, and overall household logistics.

Deep-cleaning services will periodically support the residence, and the Executive Housekeeper will coordinate and work alongside these services to ensure the household’s standards are consistently maintained.

The ideal candidate is discreet, organized, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic household environment.


Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Home Maintenance

  • Perform daily and routine cleaning of the 6,000 sq. ft. residence, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and kitchen and bathroom sanitation

  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization throughout the home

  • Manage laundry and wardrobe care including washing, drying, folding, ironing/steaming, and linen changes

  • Organize closets, storage spaces, and household systems

  • Support seasonal cleaning projects and coordinate with deep-cleaning service providers when scheduled

Household Management

  • Monitor and maintain household supplies including cleaning products, pantry basics, and paper goods

  • Receive and unpack deliveries and maintain organized storage of items

  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, contractors, and cleaning teams as directed

  • Report maintenance issues, repairs, or safety concerns promptly

  • Assist with scheduling vendor visits and managing access to the residence

Household Operations & Support

  • Coordinate with other household staff and periodic cleaning teams to ensure smooth daily operations

  • Assist with home preparation and cleanup for guests, holidays, or events

  • Support event preparation including coordination with decorators, caterers, and service providers as needed

  • Handle occasional household errands such as dry cleaning pickups or supply runs

  • Provide periodic updates to the employer regarding household needs, supplies, or maintenance issues

  • Assist with coordination between multiple homes when required

Additional Support

  • Pet care as needed

  • Assist with small household repairs, light assembly, and basic fix-it tasks

  • Cooking assistance is a plus

  • Perform other household-related tasks as requested by the employer


Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in high-end private household housekeeping or house management

  • Strong knowledge of luxury home cleaning standards and wardrobe care

  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and household services

  • Experience supporting household events and managing logistics

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a busy household

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

  • Discretion and professionalism in a private home environment

  • Flexibility with tasks and schedule as household needs evolve
