Position: Private Educator & Child Development Specialist

Location: Southampton, NY
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday (flexible structure aligned with school schedule)
Travel: Domestic & International travel
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience- $100K-$120K+ plus stipend and housing (off property but nearby)

 


Overview

A private family in Southampton is seeking a thoughtful, engaging, and experienced Private Educator to support the continued development of their one child (4 kids total- 2 babies). This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys guiding learning beyond the classroom and creating a structured yet flexible environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and independence.

Working closely with the parents, the Educator will help reinforce academic concepts, support social-emotional growth, and introduce enriching experiences that extend learning into everyday life. The position offers a collaborative and dynamic setting, with flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the children.

The household also includes a friendly family dog, so comfort around animals is important.

 


Key Responsibilities

Educational Support & Enrichment

  • Provide guidance and reinforcement of school-based learning in a supportive, engaging manner

  • Design and implement age-appropriate enrichment activities that promote critical thinking and creativity

  • Support the development of executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, and follow-through

  • Foster social-emotional growth, communication skills, and confidence through intentional interaction

  • Integrate experiential learning through outings, play, and real-world applications

Daily Structure & Mentorship

  • Establish a consistent and thoughtful daily rhythm that supports both academic and personal development

  • Encourage independence, responsibility, and positive habits

  • Act as a steady, encouraging presence, offering guidance and mentorship throughout the day

  • Collaborate with parents to ensure alignment in approach and developmental goals

Light Coordination & Support

  • Maintain an organized environment that supports the children’s routines and activities

  • Assist in coordinating schedules, activities, and general logistics related to the children

  • Provide occasional support to ensure a smooth and well-functioning day-to-day flow
