Location: Sag Harbor, New York
Schedule: Monday–Friday with flexibility as needed
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000+ annually, commensurate with experience
Accommodation: Private live-in accommodations provided (if live-in)

About the Position

A warm and welcoming family is seeking an experienced, engaging, and compassionate Nanny to provide exceptional care and support for their bright and lovable seven-year-old son with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The ideal candidate will be nurturing, patient, active, and genuinely passionate about helping children build confidence, independence, communication, and social-emotional skills. The family values a relationship-based, child-centered approach and would love to find someone with experience working with children with ASD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care.
  • Create a warm, engaging, and structured environment that supports the child's individual needs and interests.
  • Plan fun, age-appropriate activities, outings, and experiences that encourage independence, confidence, communication, and social development.
  • Support the child's daily routines and help maintain consistency and structure throughout the day.
  • Assist with homework, reading, educational activities, and age-appropriate enrichment as needed.
  • Encourage outdoor play, exploration, community outings, and social experiences.
  • Support emotional regulation and help the child navigate transitions and daily routines with patience and understanding.
  • Collaborate closely with parents and other professionals involved in the child's care to provide consistency and support.
  • Maintain open and thoughtful communication with the family regarding the child's day, progress, and needs.
  • Handle child-related responsibilities and organization.
  • Travel with the family on occasion as needed.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced career Nanny with a strong background caring for school-aged children.
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder strongly preferred.
  • Warm, patient, engaging, and naturally nurturing.
  • Active and enthusiastic with the ability to create fun and meaningful experiences.
  • Comfortable providing structure while remaining flexible and responsive to the child's needs.
  • Strong communicator who works well alongside parents and other professionals.
  • Discreet, dependable, proactive, and comfortable working within a private household.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Monday through Friday schedule with flexibility based on the family's needs.
  • Limited travel throughout the year.
  • Competitive annual salary of $100,000–$120,000+, depending on experience and qualifications.
